Miller_Arch

Miller is the CEO and founder of the Vancouver-based International Air & Hospitality Academy, the Northwest Culinary Institute as well as Northwest Renewable Energy Institute.

A long-time leader for such charitable groups as Identity Clark County and Big Brother Big Sisters, Miller was the Chamber’s board chairman in 1987 and is a chamber member. He is also a former president of the Port of Vancouver, Vancouver Rotary Club and Vancouver Visitors and Convention Bureau.

“It’s an honor to present Arch Miller with a Chamber Leadership award,” said Kelly Parker, CEO of the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. “Our Chamber is 122 years old and has been on the front lines of many important issues and projects in our community’s history. Our Chamber has been strong because of strong leaders.

“Arch Miller is one of those leaders. We thought it was long overdue that we formally say, “thank you,’” she added.

Mark Herceg has been named 2011 Employee of the Year by the city of Battle Ground. Herceg has served as Battle Ground’s assistant city engineer since 2008.

Herceg has been instrumental in overseeing the development of several large improvement projects in Battle Ground including North Parkway, SW Scotton Way and SE Grace Avenue.

“Mark demonstrates professionalism, competence, and the ability to effectively lead the city’s engineering department. He is a valuable member of the Battle Ground team,” said City Manager John Williams.

Gramstad_GregGREGORY GRAMSTAD

Gregory Gramstad, a physician at Rebound Orthopedics and Neurosurgery, recently earned his subspecialty certification in orthopaedic sports medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Gramstad is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in conditions relating to the shoulder and elbow. He was a 2011 and 2012 Portland Monthly Top Doctor and a 2011-2012 Best Doctor in America by Best Doctors Inc.

To earn subspecialty certification, each physician must have actively practiced orthopedic sports medicine for at least two years in the same location following the completion of any formal education. In addition, they are required to document and perform over 115 surgical cases related to sports medicine, as well as pass a comprehensive written examination.

Lance A. Barrett, managing member of Barrett & Company PLLC, was honored as 2011 North American Advisor of the Year by RAN ONE, a global professional network for business and financial advisors, for achievement of outstanding results in small business advisory services.

Barrett and Company PLLC is a locally owned and operated Certified Public Accounting firm located in Camas. 

Trupp_MarkMARK TRUPP

Wells Fargo has named Camas resident Mark Trupp its community banking district manager for Southwest Washington. He previously served in a similar position in Salem.

In his new role, Trupp is in charge of the service, sales and community involvement efforts at 12 Wells Fargo bank branches in Vancouver, Camas, Battle Ground and Portland.

Trupp joined the company in 1993. He worked as a credit analyst, a credit manager and store manager for the consumer finance division. Trupp was then named a bank branch manager in 2002 in Portland and promoted to team lead in 2004. He was promoted to district manager in 2005.

He graduated from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, with a bachelor’s degree in business.

Andy Nelson has joined Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest as the agency’s new chief executive officer.

Nelson comes to the Portland-based organization having served as executive director of Hands On Greater Portland for more than nine years.

In 2011, Big Brothers Big Sisters served 2,551 children, families and volunteers – including more than 600 in Southwest Washington.

Barbette Schoening was recently re-elected to her fourth term as president
of Second Chance Companions (SCC).

Schoening has more than 15 years of experience with animal rescues and started volunteering with Battle Ground-based SCC in 2006.

In 2012, Schoening said she hopes to continue the legacy of SCC founders to improve the lives of as many animals as possible.
