McDonagh to serve as GVCC interim CEO

John McDonagh

The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce (GVCC) has appointed John McDonagh, publisher of the Vancouver Business Journal, as interim CEO.

McDonagh will serve in the leadership position while the chamber searches for a permanent CEO/President following the departure of outgoing CEO Kelly Love, who resigned to take a job at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center.

“We welcome John McDonagh as a long time chamber member, supporter and community leader,” said Eric Olmsted, Board Chair of GVCC, in a press release. “He will provide steadfast leadership during this transition period. The chamber is in good hands.”

The Vancouver Business Journal will continue to publish without interruption while McDonagh serves as the chamber’s interim CEO.

“I appreciate the support of my team at VBJ allowing me to take on the responsibility to help lead GVCC through the transition,” said McDonagh. “I am honored to be asked to step in at the chamber and consider it an opportunity to continue my work supporting business in Southwest Washington.”

McDonagh’s first day on the job will be December 14.
