Vancouver-based First Independent Bank has promoted Glenda Michael to senior vice president. 

Michael leads the bank's client relationship team that serves local healthcare professionals and healthcare organizations, from small practice groups to large clinics.

"Over the past four years, Glenda has built a significant book of business for the bank in a very specialized niche through her exceptional sales and client service skills," said Jeanne Firstenburg, president of First Independent. Michael joined First Independent in 2004, working with private banking clients. She has over 30 years of regional banking experience. In 2006, she began developing the healthcare service team, providing specialized financial solutions for physicians, clinics, hospitals, insurers and other related businesses. 

BYRON HANKE

MacKay & Sposito, Inc. (M&S) has hired Vancouver native Byron Hanke as a part-time independent consultant. 

 "MacKay & Sposito has long enjoyed a reputation for quality work and community services,'' Hanke said. "I'm looking forward to working with their team of professionals."

 Hanke joins the business development team bringing nearly three decades of port experience including 15 years as the executive director of the Port of Vancouver. 

Prior to that time Byron was public relations director for Clark Public Utilities for 12 years.  Hanke is a proud lifetime member of the Washington Public Ports Association, Pacific Northwest Waterways Association and is one of three Clark Public Utilities commissioners
