Commissioners select Rebecca Blaisdell for regional library board

The Board of County Commissioners recently selected Rebecca Blaisdell to serve as a Clark County representative on the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District Board of Trustees. The appointment must be approved by county commissioners in Skamania and Klickitat counties.

Blaisdell, vice chairman of the Fort Vancouver Regional Library Foundation, is an 11-year Clark County resident. She is vice president of Management Group, a property management firm, as well as a licensed real estate associate broker and a 2007 graduate of Leadership Clark County.

“Rebecca’s commitment to the library system is proven through her work on the library foundation board,” said Chairman Steve Stuart. “She knows the issues facing the library district, and with that knowledge and her experience, she will be able to hit the ground running.”

Library trustees are responsible for policies involving 13 branch libraries, three bookmobiles and related services for about 400,000 people in Southwest Washington.

If approved, Blaisdell will serve as the county’s Position 1 representative beginning in January.

The Columbia River Economic Development Council recently presented its Pillar of Excellence in Economic Development Award to former Vancouver City Manager Pat McDonnell, for his 12 years of dedicated service to the CREDC and its executive committee.

The annual Pillar of Excellence Award is given to those who make outstanding contributions to economic development in Southwest Washington.

Wells Fargo Home Mortgage has announced the promotion of Heather Howerton to manager of its Private Mortgage Banking team for Clark County and the Portland metro area.

Howerton previously served three years as a regional builder sales manager for Wells Fargo in Dallas, Texas.

In her new role, the company said Howerton will oversee the customer service, sales, professional development and community involvement efforts of 15 team members.

Wells Fargo’s Private Mortgage Banking team provides mortgages of $300,000 and above to high value clients.

Howerton started her financial services career in 1995 as a loan originator at Harbor Financial in Oklahoma City. She later worked at American Capital Mortgage for three years as a loan originator and then as a builder sales director for GMAC Mortgage for seven years before joining Wells Fargo in 2007.
