Scott Donart

WRK Engineers, a Vancouver-based seismic engineering firm, recently announced the following new hires: Scott Donart as designer; Christina Hubbard as an executive assistant; Devon Lumbard as project manager; Karla Richards as associate of business development; Seth Thomas as design engineer; and Shadow Woodfork as project engineer.

A recent graduate, Donart holds a masters of engineering from Portland State University and a bachelor of science from Oregon Tech.

Hubbard’s background includes founding a grant writing company as well as providing administrative and liaison support in a variety of professional industries. In her role she will be responsible for financial reporting, human resources, administrative support, and work on corporate strategic planning and marketing collateral production.

Lumbard brings eight years of structural engineering, consulting and project management experience to his position at WRK Engineers. In his new role, he will focus on design-build pursuits and forensic/litigation support.

Richards has 13 years of experience with structural engineering firms in the Pacific Northwest. In her new role, she will support WRK’s current clients and grow new relationships in the firm’s target markets.

Thomas brings more than two years of structural engineering experience to his design engineer role at WRK Engineers. His project experience includes both new design and seismic upgrades of various structure types, spanning healthcare, high tech and higher education market sectors. He is a graduate of Oregon State University.

Finally, Woodfork has 11 years of experience in engineering, having designed a variety of projects including commercial, residential, medical, religious, educational and historic structures, with a focus on timber and cold formed steel stud construction.

Rodica CaileanRODICA CAILEAN

Sigma Design has hired Rodica Cailean as a mechanical engineer.

Originally from Romania, Cailean has more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing in addition to her degrees in mechanical engineering and business.

She has a wide variety of experience with projects ranging from laser amplifier systems to electric transducers. In her new role, she will be providing mechanical engineering services for consumer electronics customers located in San Diego.

JULIE HANNON

Julie Hannon was recently appointed to the position of Parks and Recreation director for the city of Vancouver. Her first day of work is on Tuesday, December 3.

Hannon has 25 years of parks and recreation experience, most recently serving as director and deputy director for the city of Modesto, California for 13 years.

She has a bachelor of arts degree in parks and recreation from Western Illinois University and a masters degree in public administration from Ashford University.
