Frost StacySTACY FROST

Stacy Frost has won the Edmund Friedman Young Engineer Award for Professional Achievement from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Frost, a senior engineer at Vancouver-based Maul Foster & Alongi Inc., received the award with a special emphasis noted on his high level of participation in his profession and community.

“I have been on several nonprofit boards including the Bridge Meadows organization. I also volunteer with two local school districts – Vancouver’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) program and Evergreen’s pre-engineering advisory committee,” Frost noted.

With 11 years of experience in civil engineering, Frost has been heavily involved in commercial, residential, light industrial, heavy industrial and port development.

The Association of Washington Business (AWB) recently announced its new slate of officers for 2012-13.

AWB is the oldest and largest statewide business organization, with more than 8,000 members representing a cross-section of industries across Washington state.

Joining the AWB Board of Directors as board chair is Doug Bayne, director of resource development for the Walla Walla Community College Foundation. Bayne has been actively involved in AWB since 2003, when he first joined the board as a representative of Banner Bank in Walla Walla.

Joining Bayne on the board is AWB Vice Chair Mel Russell (not pictured), owner of Aldercreek Vineyards in Vancouver and AWB Secretary-Treasurer Lisa Janicki, chief financial officer of Janicki Industries in Sedro-Woolley.

“Our leadership team continues to focus on policies that will create a healthy economy for everyone in our state by insuring our businesses provide jobs and the tax revenues our state needs for police and fire protection, schools, colleges and universities and to assist people in need,” said AWB President Don Brunell.

Stewart SherrySHERRY STEWART

Pacific Continental Bank has hired Sherry Stewart to serve as a client service officer. Stewart will be working from the bank’s Vancouver office.

Pacific Continental Banks is headquartered in Eugene, Oregon.

RONDA COURTNEY

The Vancouver USA Regional Tourism Office has hired Ronda Courtney to serve as a convention sales manager.

Courtney will be responsible for generating leads and bringing conferences, conventions, reunions and retreat business to Vancouver and Clark County. Her target markets will be military reunions, fraternal groups, faith-based organizations and special interest groups.

Courtney previously managed the 72-acre Columbia County Event Complex in St. Helens, Oregon. Prior to that, she served as the executive director of South County Chamber of Commerce and owned RKC Events in Portland where she planned corporate and nonprofit events.

“We are pleased to add Ronda to our sales team,” said Rosemary Cooke, director of sales for the Vancouver USA Regional Tourism Office, in a press release. “Her background in event management makes her a great candidate for this position. With the addition of Ronda, we continue to strengthen our regional small meeting sales efforts.”

Courtney has a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from Portland State University.

SCHWABE BOARD

Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, a regional law firm in the Pacific Northwest, expanded its board of directors in a recent election.

For a number of years, the board composition included five directors. According to Mark Long, managing shareholder, the recent move to eight directors is a commitment to firm growth throughout the region.

President Dave Bartz and Long were re-affirmed as co-leaders of the firm. The new directors are shareholders
Troy Greenfield, Joel Parker and Vancouver’s Lisa Lowe. They join shareholders Jill
Gelineau, Kevin Kerstiens
and Bert Markovich to comprisethe newly expanded board of directors.
