MacKay Sposito, a Vancouver-based consulting firm specializing in energy, public works and land development, has hired Dennis Schwartz to serve as its director of energy.

In his new role, Schwartz will lead and expand the company’s energy division.

Schwartz has more than two decades of career experience including several years as a leader within the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers (USACE). Most recently he served as the hydroelectric power operations manager at Bonneville Dam.

“We are thrilled to have Dennis join our expanding leadership team.” said Derrick Smith, senior vice president. “His passion for the energy industry is contagious and his expertise will play an integral role in continuing to provide excellent service to our energy clients.”

Schwartz holds a degree from Northwest Nazarene University and also completed a year-long Master’s level course through the USACE Leadership Development Program.

RON JUNKER

The Cowlitz County Commissioners recently named Ron Junker as the director of public works for Cowlitz County.

In his new role, Junker will be responsible for managing and supervising the staff at the Public Works Department and the Facilities/Parks Department.

“We are pleased that Ron has accepted the director of public works position and look forward to continuing to provide excellent service to Cowlitz County’s citizens,” said Commissioner Michael Karnofski.

Junker has held the position of facilities maintenance director since February 1, 2006.
