ZOE FORD, TIM HOFF, TIM ROELS, JAY TUCKER, JOE ZIEMAN & JAMIE DEDERICK
Project engineering firm Sigma Design recently announced the addition of six new employees as part of the Vancouver-based business’ ongoing expansion. Joining the firm are CNC programmer Zoe Ford; machinist Tim Hoff; mechanical engineer Tim Roels; business development manager Jay Tucker; and process engineers Joe Zieman and Jamie Dederick.
Ford brings more than 20 years of experience in machine programming to Sigma Design. She has experience as a foreman and programmer designing and setting up complex, custom fixturing for a variety of machined parts. Her technical expertise includes programming, reverse engineering, inspection, machine set-up and troubleshooting. In her new role, she will be involved in fabricating a variety of machined parts for prototypes as well as production.
Hoff has a background in setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. He has more than 15 years of experience in CNC machining, working with clients to solve engineering problems, fabricate, modify and repair mechanical components. In his new role, he will be involved in a range of projects applying his understanding of mechanics, material properties, layout and machining procedures.
Roels brings 30 years of experience in product design and manufacturing to Sigma Design. He holds a masters degree in engineering from Oregon State University and a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University. For more than 30 years he has been a part of development teams for medical devices, printer technology and battery technologies. His technical expertise includes R&D, advanced process development, prototype builds and tool design. In his new role, he will be involved in a range of product design projects through concept and design phases to manufacturing and optimization.
Tucker began his career in engineering and has since transitioned into business development. He holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Oregon Institute of Technology. In addition, he holds an associate of science in mechanical engineering technology from Raritan Valley Community College in Long Branch, New Jersey and he studied civil engineering at the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. In his new role, he will be responsible for managing and growing client relations primarily in the Northwest region.
Zieman has 28 years of experience in manufacturing engineering and holds a bachelor of science degree from Washington State University. His design experience includes mechanical and pneumatic components, developing micro-lens array processes and lean manufacturing production systems. At Sigma Design, he will be responsible for developing, extending and characterizing process capabilities for manufacturing services for a wide range of products.
Dederick brings 13 years of experience in process engineering to Sigma Design. He holds an associate degree from the ITT Technical Institute in Portland. His skills and experience include lean manufacturing, lean operations, process engineering, process improvement and automated software testing. In his new role, he will provide process engineering services for a range of product manufacturing and testing projects.
