The Northwest Public Power Association (NWPPA) Board of Trustees has selected Anita Decker as the association’s next executive director, effective April 1.

Most recently, since 2007, she served as Bonneville Power Administration’s (BPA) chief operating officer. “We strongly believe that [Decker’s] extensive knowledge of electric power in the Northwest coupled with her several decades of experience with BPA and PacifiCorp will not only benefit our members, but it will enrich the Association in the coming years,” said NWPPA Board of Trustees First Vice President Ken Weiss. “The board and I are excited to work with her and start this new chapter in NWPPA’s story.”

Rick TakachRICK TAKACH

Rick Takach, president and CEO of Vancouver-based Vesta Hospitality, has been named to the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) 2014 Board of Directors.

AH&LA is the sole national association representing all segments of the 1.8 million-employee U.S. lodging industry, including hotel owners, REITs, chains, franchisees, management companies, independent properties, state hotel associations and industry suppliers.

The association said Takach is part of a new board selected to reflect a new strategic direction and membership model passed last June by a vote of its members.

“We are thrilled that our new board is comprised of dynamic group of senior industry leaders who will lead the AH&LA’s future strategic direction,” said AH&LA President & CEO Katherine Lugar. “I’m confident Rick will be a valuable contributor of the thought leadership and direction crucial to ensuring AH&LA and the industry are best-positioned to tackle the challenges and meet the objectives of the future.”

Takach founded Vesta Hospitality in 1996. The comapny specializes in human resource training, management and development, and provides hospitality services to several projects throughout the United States and Canada.
