PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center recently named Alan Melnick, M.D., and Barbe West to its board of directors. Both members will serve three-year terms beginning in June.

Melnick serves as director of Clark County Public Health, where he’s responsible for ensuring the delivery of services and programs that improve the health of Clark County residents, as well as overseeing the medical direction of the department. Currently, he is a member of the National Board of Public Health Examiners and a board member for the Washington State Association of Local Public Health Officials, among other appointments.

West serves as executive director of the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington, which provides access to free health care for children and adults who are otherwise unable to obtain such services. She has nearly 30 years of health care leadership experience, and has served on a number of boards, including The Washington Health Care Access Alliance, Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and more. She is currently the chair of the Healthy Living Collaborative of Southwest Washington.

The PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center Community Health Board of Directors includes physicians, business leaders and community volunteers dedicated to upholding the PeaceHealth Mission to improve the health and well-being of people in southwest Washington and surrounding areas.
