Leadership Clark County (LCC), a nonprofit, nonpartisan civic leadership development program, is now accepting proposals from nonprofits and public agencies seeking volunteer assistance with a specific project.

Based in Vancouver, the NWABA is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides programming to more than 1,000 individuals of all ages and ability levels with visual impairments. The mission of NWABA is to provide life-changing opportunities through sports and physical activity to individuals who are blind and visually impaired.
HAROLD ELLIOTT
Harold D. Elliott has joined the Vancouver-based accounting firm Vierck & Rakoski CPAs, PC.
In his new role, Elliott will handle tax preparation, accounting and consulting for individual and corporate clients of the firm.
Prior to joining the firm, Elliott served as tax director at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and as tax director for a natural resources company.
Elliott received his bachelor of science degree in accounting from Lewis and Clark College.
LARRY SCHLECHT
Larry Schlecht, president of Vancouver-based Schlecht Construction Inc., recently received the 2014 Builder Appreciation Award from the Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW).
The award was given in recognition of Schlecht’s contributions to the building industry. Schlecht Construction has been in business as a commercial and industrial General Contractor for nearly 50 years specializing in design/build construction throughout Washington and Oregon.

Scott Edwards, a partner at Schauermann, Thayer, Jacobs, Staples, & Edwards in Vancouver, has been elected to the Board of Governors of WSAJ (The Washington Association for Justice). The organization is dedicated to promoting a fair justice system.
Edwards follows in the footsteps of Craig Schauermann, senior partner at Schauermann Thayer Jacobs Staple & Edwards. Schauermann served on the WSAJ Board for five years.
JAKE PARMETER
OnPoint Community Credit Union has named Jake Parmeter as the manager of three in-store branches in Vancouver. The branches (Andresen, Burton and Salmon Creek) are all located within Safeway stores.
In his new role, Parmeter will be responsible for all daily branch operations, providing leadership to branch staff and developing new business relationships.
Parmeter has more than seven years of financial services experience and has worked at OnPoint the past four years. Most recently he served as assistant manager of OnPoint’s Mill Plain branch.
“Jake’s strong leadership skills make him a great fit for his new role,” said OnPoint’s President and CEO Rob Stuart. “His flexibility and experience in diverse areas are invaluable resources as he moves to simultaneously managing our three Vancouver in-store branches.”

Leadership Clark County (LCC) has appointed three new members to its volunteer Board of Directors.
Joining the LCC board are Jeff Groff, Clark Public Utilities; Matthew Herring, Underwriters Lab; and Kathleen Myers Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency.
Founded in 1993, LCC is a nonprofit, nonpartisan civic leadership development program.
