Kathy Kniep has accepted the position of executive director at the YWCA of Clark County after serving as interim executive director for the past nine months. Previously, Kniep was a program officer and operations officer for the Neighborhood Partnership Fund in Portland and director at the Institute for Children and Poverty in New York. Previous employment includes positions with the United Nations, Save the Children and the Ford Foundation. Most recently, Kniep was an affiliate of the Executive Transition Services Program at Technical Assistance for Community Services in Portland.
Kniep received a master’s degree from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs. She has volunteered as a Big Sister, classroom assistant with a local school for homeless children and board chair of Community Advocates, a Portland-based child abuse prevention organization.
