The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington has selected Val Ogden as Clark County’s First Citizen for 2006. Ogden served as Washington State Representative from 1991 to 2002 and was speaker pro tempore from 1988 to 2002. Prior to this, she was the executive director of the YWCA. She currently co-chairs the SW Washington Center for the Arts, the SW Washington Child Care Consortium, Clark County Vocational Skills Center and the Columbia Springs Environmental Education Center. She is a volunteer mentor for young girls, an advocate for affordable housing and the champion for a cultural arts center in Vancouver.
