VBJ to recognize fastest growing businesses
The Vancouver Business Journal will recognize 14 local businesses at this month’s 2006 Business Growth Awards on March 23. Dan Moffat, CEO of national networking firm New Edge Networks, will be the keynote speaker. The businesses will be recognized in five categories: Innovator of the Year, Start Up of the Year and Fastest Growing Business 1 to 5 years, 6 to 10 years and more than ten years in business.
The finalists in Innovator of the Year are The Holland Inc., Burgerville’s parent company; Techjet Imaging, a Vancouver based printing company; and Wacom Technology Corp., makers of interactive pen tablets.
The finalists in Start Up of the Year are Hazel Dell-based Discount Tobacco and Beverages and ProGolf of Vancouver, a local franchise with a large pro golf shop and simulated courses.
The finalists in the Fastest Growing Business category, 1 to 5 years, are GekkoTek, a business consultancy group; mortgage company US Funding Group – Washington Inc.; and homebuilder Zephyr Communities.
The finalists in the Fastest Growing Business category, 6 to 10 years are Bank of Clark County, Northwest Personal Training & Fitness Education and residential builders Pacific Lifestyle Homes Inc.
The finalists in the Fastest Growing Business category, 10 years and up, are the Vancouver office of commercial real estate agency NAI Norris Beggs & Simpson, Riverview Community Bank and the Vancouver office of regional law firm Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt.
