An October 2014 building activity report released by Clark County this month showed significant annual and monthly increases in Single Family Residence (SFR) building permits.
98 SFR permits were issued ilast month, representing a 46 percent increase over the October 2013 figure of 67 permits. The monthly increase was 75 percent, with 56 SFR permits issued in September.
“We are encouraged by the local building industry’s continuing recovery,” said Ott Gaither, president of the Building Industry Association of Clark County. “These figures are further evidence that owning a new home remains a desirable goal for many in our community. The BIA worked very hard in this last election cycle to ensure that our industry has the legislative and policy support we need to provide affordable housing to local families.”
The Building Industry Association (BIA) of Clark County is a nonprofit trade association representing the interests of all businesses involved with real estate, land development, homebuilding and construction.
