The AWC WellCity Award recognizes cities and towns that demonstrate best practices in employee health promotion by meeting the minimum criteria in each of nine WellCity standards; policies and procedures, leadership support, wellness committee, internal and external resources, needs assessment, worksite environment, operating plan, mix of program activities and evaluation.
Cities who earn the award benefit by a reduction in the cost of AWC employee health coverage; the award will save the city of Battle Ground approximately $7,500 in 2014.
