Vancouver-based Acorn Development has purchased the city of Vancouver’s Esther Short Building, located at 610 Esther Street in downtown Vancouver. The city sold the 32,034-square foot, two-story office building for $5,092,060 – its current appraised value.
The city began renting the building for office space in 2002. It was later purchased by the city in partnership with National Development for $6,350,000.
In December 2011, the city officially declared the building as surplus and began marketing the property to prospective buyers. With the market showing signs of recovery this year, Acorn Development submitted an offer equal to the current appraised value of the building, which was accepted by the city.
