Bank of America has awarded $104,707 in grants to six nonprofits in the Portland area addressing basic human services such as hunger, shelter and support services to help meet the changing needs of low- and moderate- income communities.
The Clark County Food Bank was one of the six grant recipients. Its mission is to feed the hungry in Clark County by purchasing food and supplies to repack foodstuffs for thousands of residents across Clark County.
“These grants focus on addressing basic human services through providing help at the point of need, offering services including food and shelter to local individuals and families,” said Monique Barton, senior VP of corporate social responsibility at Bank of America in Oregon and Southwest Washington. “We’re also trying to solve the longer term problem by addressing financial stability issues and providing access to benefits and resources through strategic partnerships with influential local nonprofit organizations.”
