More than 220 members of the business community filled the venue to honor and recognize the GVCC Board, Bill Barron (recipient of a lifetime achievement award for his 14 years serving as Clark County Administrator) and five award recipients of the chamber’s Business & Leadership Awards.
The award recipients are as follows:
2013 Community statesman Award: Clark County Commissioner Steve Stuart
Stuart was nominated for his work creating parks and playing fields in the community, streamlining the permitting process, and for his current efforts to lessen the adverse impacts of new environmental regulations causing hardships for Clark County developers and businesses.
Honorable mention: Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt; State Senator Annette Cleveland
2013 Startup to Watch: Michael Hippert of Pangea Motors Pangea Motors
Hippert was nominated for his company’s efforts in pioneering technology for alternative electric transportation.
Honorable mention: Steamers and Screamers
2013 Community Builder Award, Small Business: Dr. Tyler Pritchard of Pritchard Orthodontics
Pritchard is a dental specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. In November 2013, Pritchard Orthodontics will begin occupancy of the recently renovated building at 411 West Main Street in Battle Ground.

2013 Community Builder Award, Large Business: Riverview Community Bank
Riverview Community Bank has served Southwest Washington since 1923. The company actively supports more than 100 nonprofit organizations each year through volunteering, participation, donations, sponsorships and in-kind giving. Last year alone, Riverview contributed more than $200,000 to nonprofits in our region.

2013 Community Champion Award: Billy Henry, Northwest Association for Blind Athletes
Henry is the co-founder and executive director of the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes. He started the organization in 2007 to provide sports and fitness opportunities to people who are blind and visually impaired. The organization served six students the first year, and now provides opportunities to more than 1,000 youth and adults with visual impairments across Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.
