The Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber is opening a new office in Vancouver to deepen its existing relationships in the local community and to increase its services.
Located at 805 Broadway Street, Suite 230, the new office is the result of a grant from Kaiser Permanente Community Fund and a contract with the city of Vancouver, funded through the city’s Community Development Block Grant program, which aims to increase the number of successful small businesses in Vancouver.
“We are very excited about increasing our services to the Vancouver area and bringing additional resources to the local community,” said Gale Castillo, chamber president.
To celebrate the new office, the Hispanic Chamber will hold an open house on Wednesday, February 25 from 11 to 1 p.m.
Two days later, on Friday, February 27, the chamber will host a “Marketing to Latinos” event in the Columbia Room at the Vancouver Library (901 C Street, Vancouver) from 10:30 a.m. to noon. This presentation will discuss the U.S. Latino buying power, demographics, stereotypes, purchasing behaviors as well as strategies for effectively engaging the Latino market.
The chamber has served businesses, students and professionals in Southwest Washington since 1994 through technical assistance to small businesses, scholarships to Latino students and leadership training to Latino professionals.
