Maul Foster & Alongi Inc. to lead master planning for closed landfill, adjacent parcels

Landfill

Clark County purchased the 74-acre landfill and 46 acres of adjacent property in 2011. Any future uses must not interfere with post-closure monitoring and maintenance, officials said.

Property to the north of the landfill is included in plans for an extension of Northeast 99th Street. A 35-acre area to the south is zoned light industrial.

“Although this site has some distinct challenges, it also represents a tremendous recreational and commercial asset for the public,” said Don Benton, the county’s director of Environmental Services, in a press release.
