A new marijuana retailer has opened its doors in downtown Vancouver.
High End Market Place, also known as H.E.M.P., opened this week at 1906 Broadway in Uptown Village – not far from the city’s first pot store, Main Street Marijuana, which opened last July.
“We are happy to come into the market later on in the game because we have a great opportunity to offer quality products at much lower prices than when legalization in Washington first began,” said H.E.M.P. owner Gareth Kautz. “We are really excited to be business owners here in Vancouver. This is our home, my partner and I have lived here our whole lives, and we are ready to be active and positive community members.”
Located in a commercially-zoned house, Kautz said his goal is to make his customers feel as comfortable as possible.
“I think people will be really excited about that [location], and we feel that it creates a really home-like, welcoming atmosphere,” he said.
To celebrate the opening, the shop will host a grand opening event on Saturday, January 31 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
High End Market Place is the third marijuana retailer to open in Vancouver. A fourth retailer, The Herbery (212 NE 164th Avenue, Suite #11), is expected to open next month.
