Bullivant merges with San Francisco firm
Portland-based law firm Bullivant Houser Bailey PC has merged with San Francisco business and litigation law firm Jacobs and Ferraro LLP. Bullivant Houser Bailey has offices in Vancouver, Seattle, Sacramento, Calif., San Francisco and Las Vegas.
The merger continues Bullivant’s expansion of attorneys and legal services along the West Coast and will bring five new litigation lawyers to the company’s 15-attorney San Francisco office.
The merger will not affect operations at the Vancouver or Portland offices, according to a firm spokesperson.
Port honored for energy efforts
The Port of Vancouver has been certified by the Environmental Protection Agency for its purchase of renewable energy credits.
The port claims to be the only United States port in the EPA’s Green Power Partnership Leadership Club. It has partnered with Texas-based Green Mountain Energy to purchase $18,018 in wind RECs this year.
The energy associated with those RECs will equal about 60 percent of electricity used in port buildings annually. The effort is expected to help divert carbon dioxide emissions with an annual impact that would equal removing more than 370 cars from the road, according to the port.
Dozer Day seeks volunteers
Volunteers are needed for Dozer Day, an annual fundraiser that allows supervised children to drive heavy equipment to raise money for the Parks Foundation of Vancouver and Clark County. The event will be May 17 at Rinker Quarry in Vancouver, and is under management of the Vancouver-based Nutter Foundation for the first time.
