Rep. Jacks visits 50 businesses in 50 days

Washington state Rep. Jim Jacks (D-Vancouver) finished the final stop on his "50 Businesses in 50 Business Days" tour of Southwest Washington's business and industrial community on Nov. 12.

Jacks said he devised the project in response to Clark County's still-surging unemployment rate – pegged at 12.7 percent in September.

"I was hoping to find a silver bullet or Harry Potter's magic wand, something that would solve everyone's problems. But I found the hard reality is that being successful in business takes a lot of hard work, real sweat, and disciplined commitment," he said.

Voters in the 49th Legislative District elected Jacks to his first term in Olympia last fall.
