Dozens of area contractors and suppliers have donated labor and materials to GATE House, which opened its doors to students this fall. The GATE program, operated by the Vancouver School District, benefits young adults throughout Southwest Washington ages 18 to 21 who have special needs due to significant mental and physical disabilities. On Wednesday, Oct. 4 GATE House will host a barbecue and tour at 6 p.m. for those who worked on the project. On Thursday, there will be an open house from noon to 1 p.m. and a formal dedication. Everyone is invited to attend. Pictured at left, students Dustin Black and Valorie Denham.
