“Before we do a wedding, [the bride and groom] can come in and we will do a tasting to give them different flavors to taste to see what they like,” she explained.
When it comes to flavor, Molyneux’s cupcakes come packed with a bit of a surprise. While most other bakeshops sell traditional cupcakes, Nana’s Tiny Cakes feature different flavors of cream filling.
“We have mint filling, we have marshmallow filling, caramel, vanilla cream filled, two different kinds of chocolate filling, key lime filling, eggnog filling during Christmas and more,” she said.
Molyneux plans to market her new space as the “Baskin Robbins of cupcake shops”. She currently carries six to eight different flavors at any one time, while Divine Consign carries about ten.
“My favorite is the coconut, but the best seller is probably the chocolate velvet caramel,” Molyneux added.
While cupcakes are the stars of the show at Nana’s Tiny Cakes, Molyneux also makes frosted cookies for local businesses in the shape of different company logos. She has also dabbled in the brownie making business as well.
“Caramel brownies, peanut butter brownies, almond joy brownies and things like that,” she noted.
When asked about future expansion, Molyneux said she would like to hire a couple of employees in the near future. But for now, she said with a chuckle, “we’ll maybe add an oven.”
