Vancouver arborists help save watershed
Celeste and Joseph Thomas, owners of Thomas Family Tree LLC, led a crew of seven to help restore a portion of the Salmon Creek watershed on Thursday.
With help from students from a branch campus of Lewis and Clark College at Columbia River High School, the crew planted Doug Fir, dogwood trees and other native plants donated by Shorty's Garden and Home. Located at 10514 N.W. 14th Ave. in Vancouver, Thomas Family Tree opened last January.
Real estate company holds 9th annual Suit Week
Oregon-based The Hasson Company, with an office on Grand Blvd. in Vancouver, will be open for members of the community to donate new or gently-used suits, skirts, blouses, jackets, shoes and other work apparel for local people in need from Nov. 2-6. The items must be clean and ready-to-wear to a professional job interview. In addition to suits, donations of winter coats are also accepted at Hasson's five Oregon and Washington state locations.
