Columbia Machine names new CEO

Rick Goode has taken over as president and chief executive officer of Columbia Machine Inc., a leading worldwide supplier of concrete products equipment based in Vancouver.

Goode, the grandson of founder Fred Neth, Sr., was appointed to fill the position left by Jerry Findley, who served as president and CEO for the last nine years. Although he retired from full-time duties, Findley will remain at the company on a reduced-hour basis to focus on business development programs. He also will continue to sit on Columbia’s board of directors and be actively involved in trade groups such as the National Concrete Masonry Association.

Goode has worked for Columbia for 11 years, and served most recently as executive vice president. He also served as vice president and general manager of Columbia’s palletizer division and general manager of Columbia Okura.

Columbia Machine is a privately held, family owned business that has been headquartered in Vancouver for nearly 70 years. It does business in 95 countries and has sales representatives the world over. In 2005, the company, including its Columbia Okura division, had worldwide sales of $115 million and recently finalized the acquisitions of the concrete products division of Montreal, Canada-based Paco Group and Turmac Inc.
