New pot shop to celebrate opening with Sir Mix-A-Lot

The Herbery

A fourth marijuana retailer is now open for business in Vancouver, and the shop plans to celebrate that milestone with a special guest.

The Herbery, located at 212 NE 164th Ave., will hold an in-store meet-and-greet on Saturday, February 14 with Grammy Award-winning recording artist Sir Mix-A-Lot, best known for his 1992 song, “Baby Got Back.”

“We’re huge fans,” said Jim Mullen, chief operating officer at The Herbery.

Already scheduled to be in town for a Valentine’s Day concert in Portland, Sir Mix-A-Lot will be available for photographs and autographs at the Vancouver shop between 3 and 4 p.m.

The Herbery, which opened its doors on Saturday, February 7, is Vancouver’s newest marijuana retail store. The owners intend to open a second Vancouver store in April, followed by future locations in Oregon, Colorado and across the country as legalization proliferates.

Mullen said the shop features premium and exclusive strains and a customer-focused experience.

“What you see is what you get,” he said. “Customers examine and select a strain from a display case, and then The Herbery ‘budtenders’ will show them numerous packets of their selection, and the customer actually selects what they take home.”

The store also carries THC-infused products like Catapult Coffee from local grower/processor Fairwinds Manufacturing. THC is the active chemical in marijuana.
