The Vancouver Business Journal’s special Top Projects edition features each year’s most outstanding construction projects. This year’s collection of developments paints a robust and exciting picture of Southwest Washington’s business, transportation and residential growth.
This year’s Top Project is the Cowlitz Indian Tribe’s resort casino, ilani, a 368,000-square-foot facility that will feature 15 restaurants, bars and retail shops; a 100,000-square-foot gaming floor; and event space with seating up to 2,500 guests. Ilani, with a construction cost of $196,000,000, is also the largest commercial project that broke ground this year. The top public works project is the C-Tran Bus Rapid Transit project on Fourth Plain Boulevard. This project, at a construction cost $15,352,230, consists of 33 new bus stops and improvements throughout the most heavily used transit corridor in C-Tran’s system. The largest residential project this year is the second and third phases of Pleasant View Estates in Vancouver, with a total of 206 single family homes to be developed.
Other notable projects include the Sunlight Supply World Headquarters, a $26 million dollar consolidation of the Vancouver company’s facilities; both residential and commercial remodels of various historic buildings at the Fort Vancouver National Site West Barracks; and a zeitgeist of home and apartment building.
Top Projects Submission Guidelines
Top Projects accepts and publishes all commercial, public and residential projects for which a reasonable amount of information can be verified. Projects may be located in Clark, Cowlitz and Skamania counties and must have must have broken ground during the time specified in the year prior to the publication.
