Current job: Senior sales manager at the Hilton Vancouver. It is such an exciting time to be in Vancouver! I am truly honored to assist in bringing large conventions to the city and promoting the waterfront development that is reshaping downtown Vancouver.
Proudest professional moment: My proudest professional moment at the Hilton Vancouver is when I contracted a 1,100-room night conference that had never been to Southwest Washington/Portland before. They are also now considering us for future years because they were so impressed with the hotel, convention space and everything Vancouver has to offer its attendees.
The proudest professional moment of my career is when I was awarded the National Sales Leader of the Year for Marriott Managed Courtyard Hotels.
First job: Front desk agent at the Red Lion Inn Pendleton, Ore. They almost didn’t hire me because I was too shy! Working the front desk definitely helped me become more outgoing!
Fun fact: From 2003-2004, I lived in South Korea and was a conversational English tutor and substitute grade school teacher at Camp Humphreys Army Post. It was a wonderful, eye-opening experience that further ignited my love of learning and embracing other cultures. One weekend we even visited Beijing and walked on the Great Wall of China! This definitely needs to be on everyone’s bucket list.
Favorite spot on a Saturday night: Anywhere that has live music!
Favorite movie: “Love Actually” is my favorite movie because I love sappy holiday movies and because each character finds their true happiness even though it may have not been what they had originally envisioned.
Music of choice: Americana/folk/rhythm & blues.
Favorite place to eat: Wildfin for their Seared Ahi Salad and those little donuts for dessert. So delicious!
