Mackay & Sposito Inc. announces new hires to construction management & inspection team

MacKay & Sposito Inc. (M&S) has announced the addition of Nick Hastings, Chris Horne, Karl Maritt and Carolyn Sork to its construction management team.

Hastingsis a certified construction project manager with 23 years of construction management experience in the commercial and industrial fields with a concentration in specialized structures. He received his BS in construction management from Washington State University.

Horne has five years of assistant project management and construction management experience in the commercial construction industry, including experience with multi-story, structurally reinforced concrete surfaces. He received his BS in construction management from Central Washington University.

Maritt has more than 10 years of project management experience from manufacturing equipment to interior finish construction.  M&S said his educational focus was in drafting, science and math.

Sork has over 25 years of experience in office management, property management and human resources. The firm said Sork is a vital part of the construction management team at M&S due to her organizational and multi-tasking skills.

“Nick, Chris, Karl and Carolyn bring a wide breadth of construction management knowledge to our expanding construction management and inspection team,” said Tim Schauer, president of M&S. “We are looking forward to utilizing their experience and expertise to further service our clients.”

Professional fundraiser earns coveted CFRE certification

The Clark College Foundation's Director of Prospect Research, Christine Mildner, has earned the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification.

Individuals granted the CFRE credential have met a series of quality standards set by CFRE International. These include a minimum of five years of full-time experience in a fund raising role for a nonprofit, volunteer service to other not-for-profit organizations, and continuing education. They agree to uphold the donor bill of rights and stringent accountability standards. Additionally, candidates must pass a rigorous written examination testing the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a fundraising executive.

 

CORRECTION

In last week's journal (Dec. 24), the featured mover photograph was incorrect. The photo should have pictured Kristen Parcher (left). Parcher, an attorney with Vancouver Defenders, was recently selected as a commissioner for Clark County District Court.
